Surf Hostel Life in Taghazout: Zenno Surf and Yoga Week Guide
Surf Hostel Life in Taghazout: Zenno Surf and Yoga Week Guide
Are you dreaming of waking up to Atlantic swells, paddling out at sunrise, and sharing sunset stories with surfers from across the world? A week at Zenno Surf and Yoga in Taghazout is exactly that: and more. This guide walks you through what a typical week looks like, what to pack, and what makes our surf hostel in Taghazout different from the rest.
What to Expect in Your First 24 Hours
Arriving in Taghazout for the first time is a sensory overload: in the best way. The sound of waves, the smell of argan oil and tagine drifting from narrow streets, and the sight of longboards stacked outside painted blue doors. Check-in at Zenno Surf and Yoga is smooth and welcoming. Once you're settled, you'll meet your surf crew and get a quick briefing on the week ahead.
Most guests arrive on Sunday evening. That first night usually means a rooftop dinner, a pot of mint tea, and an early bedtime: because the Atlantic doesn't wait for tired travelers.
A Typical Day at Zenno Surf and Yoga
Here's what a standard weekday looks like at our surf hostel Taghazout:
7:00: Wake up to the sound of the Atlantic. Optional sunrise yoga on the rooftop.
8:00: Moroccan breakfast: fresh orange juice, argan honey, msemen (Moroccan flatbread), coffee or mint tea.
9:00: Board check and wetsuit fitting. Our team sets you up with the right equipment for your level: a foam longboard for beginners, fish or shortboard for intermediates.
9:30: Transport to the surf spot. We rotate between spots depending on conditions:
9:30-13:00: Morning surf session with certified instruction where needed.
13:00: Lunch on the beach or back at the hostel. Think fresh tajine, couscous, or fish from the Agadir market.
15:00-17:00: Optional afternoon session. Many guests use this time to explore Taghazout village, rest, or free-surf independently.
18:00: Sunset from the terrace. Some guests join the optional evening yoga session.
19:30: Dinner. Communal meals are a Zenno Surf and Yoga tradition: long tables, shared dishes, real conversation.
Why Anchor Point Deserves the Early Wake-Up
If you surf at intermediate or advanced level, Anchor Point is the reason people return to Taghazout year after year. This legendary right-hand point break: just 2 km north of the village: produces some of the longest waves in Africa. Rides of 200 meters are not unusual on a quality swell day.
March is one of the best months to experience Anchor Point. North Atlantic swells are still running strong, morning winds are typically light and offshore, and the lineup is less crowded than peak December to February season.

Surf Levels at Zenno Surf and Yoga: Everyone Progresses
Taghazout works because it has the right wave for every level. A complete beginner at Panoramas and an experienced surfer threading Anchor Point's wall can both have the session of their lives: on the same morning, just 3 km apart.
At Zenno Surf and Yoga, we group surf sessions by level. Beginners get dedicated beach instruction from STSA-certified coaches. Intermediate surfers work on lineup reading, positioning, and paddle efficiency. Advanced guests get weekly video analysis and guided sessions at technical spots like Hash Point and Anchor Point.
The progression is real. Most guests who arrive as complete beginners are riding unbroken green waves by day 4.
