Anchor Point, Taghazout
Morocco's most legendary right-hander. Rides up to 300 metres. The reason surfers come back every winter.
Why Anchor Point is World-Class
Located just 2 km north of Taghazout village, Anchor Point is a rocky right-hand point break that produces some of the longest, most consistent waves on the African continent. When a solid North Atlantic swell arrives, the wave wraps around the headland and peels for up to 300 metres giving intermediate and advanced surfers ride after ride of pure pleasure.
Unlike beach breaks that close out in bigger swells, Anchor Point becomes better the bigger it gets. The reef organises the energy into clean, hollow sections with defined take-off zones, making it predictable and surfable even in overhead conditions.
It's listed among the top 50 surf spots in the world by Surfline and Wavelength. Once you've surfed it, you'll understand why.
